Hong
Kong Open Source Software Centre is an OSS support centre managed by
the IT Industry Development Division of Hong Kong Productivity Council.
The centre was opened at 19, September 2007. It is established to
promote the adoption of open source software (OSS) solutions in Hong
Kong and support the local software industry in tapping related
business opportunities on the Mainland. Located at the HKPC Building,
the HKOSSC provides a range of services including software porting,
system testing, solution demonstration, proof-of-concept/pilot
projects, technical support, software certification, training as well
as research.
The missions of the Centre are:
1.
Promote the development and adoption of Open Source Software (OSS) in
Hong Kong.
2.
Provide software companies with up-to-date OSS technical information
and market
trend.
3.
Foster OSS cooperation between Hong Kong and related Pearl River Delta
organizations and further the advancement of IT in Hong
Kong.
4. Help software developers explore Mainland China's OSS market.
Situated at 5/F of HKPC Building, HKOSSC is a one-stop service centre for software developers and business users.
The facilities include:

space with skilled technical staff to provide OSS consultancy/support
and software quality assurance/certification services.Development suites for software developers to conduct testing, solution porting/migration and system integration, etc.Library of latest technical and market information on OSS development.Exhibition area for displaying and showcasing OSS applications and technologies.Marketing seminar/training venue with capacity of up to 60 attendees for the promotion of applications developed by ISVs.
